2nd Week of March

Monday, March 6th

I decided to take the kids out for a walk in the snow. We did this so that we could enjoy what will probably be our last snow for the winter. We started out doing a mini photo session out in the snow, you can read more about that here: Snowy Day Photo IdeasSince we were already part down to where husband’s work, the kids wanted keep walking there to surprise him. We had a short visit with him and then we headed back home to play in the snow. The girls were super anxious to build snowmen. We ended up with at least 7 snowmen!

The kids were delighted with this last bit of snow that we had.

Here is a little sign of spring we found popping up in our yard.

This evening was Ashley’s 1st soccer practice for spring season. Carlos is keeping himself busy as an assistant coach for the high school boys soccer team and by coaching Ashley’s rec team. The high school practice is everyday after school and then 2 days a week, Carlos will run Ashley’s team’s practice right after the high school boys. It is a busy time of year, but I am glad that Carlos is willing and able to do these things with our kids and their teammates. I was at practice too, but I did not take any pictures. We were all just trying to stay warm! 😉

Wednesday, March 8th

Today’s was my sister Maggie’s birthday. We were not able to see each other, but hopefully I will be able to see her soon. Jose had his winter band concert tonight, which was nice to be able to go to. I missed the Christmas concert, so I promised myself that I would make it to his next concert for sure.

When David saw Jose in his uniform, he became excited was asking, “Jose going to play in the band?” I think David was hoping for a football game, but nonetheless he was happy and enjoyed the concert.

My mom ended up being able to make it to the concert, so got a quick picture afterward.

Thursday, March 9th

Emily’s school had family math night tonight. We were able to go just me and her, which was a real treat for both of us. We went to different classrooms and did some different math activities. Here she is playing a math game.

I also took a picture of her by the read like a champion wall. Children who read 24 books each month will get a gold medal for reading at the end of the school year. So far this year, she made it to the “24” gold medal section each month. We are going for the gold! It is exciting for me to see Emily develop a love for reading.

Friday, March 10th

Today was all about Emily’s kindergarten field trip to the children’s museum. I chaperoned a group of 3 girls who all had a good time.

Having fun at the museum!!

The S.T.E.A.M center

It was a fun and educational field trip. I asked Emily what her favorite part was and she said, “Everything, I loved it!” A few minutes later she decided that her favorite thing was this:

The ballcano!

We were able to see all of the exhibits except for three. I think Emily could spend an entire day at the museum! After the field trip, Emily and I ran some errands.More one-on-one time together. I love my sweet little Emily!
