Last weekend, our boys and their high school soccer team entered a tournament in a bigger area about an hour away from where we live. Ian & I and my younger three kids were able to drive up and watch 2 of their 4 games.
This was a cool experience for the boys. Here they are all hanging out together in between games. Photo credit for this pic to my hubby! As the assistant coach he was there with them though out the 3 days of the tournament.
They won all 4 of the games and became the champions for their age division. They received medals afterward too. I am proud of these boys for playing their hearts out!
One of the awesome things was that my son Jose invited a boy he met at Camp Helaman to come and play a guest player on their team. We were able to get the paperwork done in time and Nick was able to come play with them. It is nice to see the boys continue their friendships that they have made. 🙂
Monday, July 17th
On Monday, Carlos and I went out and started taking his senior pictures. This is a little sneak peek. You will be able to see more shots when I write his senior picture post later! 😉
Thursday, July 20th
During the summer on Thursdays Emily and Ashley have started a tumbling class. Here they are in their little outfits. A friend from our ward runs the tumbling classes, and she is just awesome with the kids.
Both the girls say their favorite part is the trampoline.
Carlos had the day off and he was able to come and watch the girls during their tumbling class. He thought it was nice.
Afterward, he treated us to lunch at a little restaurant called Rose’s.
Here was little Emily being both funny and cute with her napkin while we were waiting for our lunch.
While waiting, I also took this quick pic of David’s ear. Two days before he had been playing at one of the school fields with Ashley & Carlitos. They had been in the grass near the playground, but a fly ball came over, bounced twice and somehow hit his ear. David fell down. Carlitos did a good job taking care of him. The guys from the baseball field came over to help. The helped our kids bring their stuff to the car. Carlitos and the guys asked David familiar questions to make sure he still knew the answers. Carlitos took David over to the store and bought an ice-cold can of soda to put on his ear during the car ride home. Given the circumstances, things could have been worse. Glad he is alright.
Friday, May 21st
Today we went to the spray park that is near our house. It ended up being a little breezy out. David tried to go in the water, but came running out. It was too cold for my little guy. Ashley and Emily went in and had fun. At the park, we found my youngest sister Brenda there with her ymca childcare group. Later that evening, Jose and I went on what I guess you could call a mini mother-son date. I had cleaned out Carlitos & Jose’s bathroom really well earlier that day and I thought it would be nice to let Jose pick out the new hand towels and things to go in the bathroom. So, for our date I let Jose drive (since he has his permit now!). We went to the store and he picked out a medium blue color. I picked up a few other household items we needed and then we went and had milkshakes on the way home. 🙂
Saturday, July 22nd
Well, on Friday evening after the mini date I had with Jose, I was feeling a little more home improvement inspiration! I talked to Carlos about my idea before bed Friday night and on Saturday after Ashley’s summer soccer scrimmage, we were buying paint! The first picture is the bathroom on Friday night. The second picture is on Saturday night. Thanks to my hubby and my son for helping me out with this project. 🙂
Carlos graduation pictures cant’ wait to see them. He is one handsome dude!
I can’t wait to take more pictures of him! So far, we have only gone out to take pictures that one day. Hopefully we will be able to take some more this coming week.
