Well, Elder Juarez made it to his mission home safely. The mission president and his wife emailed these pictures on Monday.
My highlight for this week was video chatting with my missionary…..thanks to the new communication guidelines for missionaries and thanks to our amazing first presidency. I felt really happy to be chatting with Elder Juarez. I took some pictures of him on our computer screen while we were chatting. I also took one of myself. Not only did I feel happy, I was surprised to see how happy I looked in the picture.
He is still just as handsome! I love and miss him so much. Ashley was the only other person home at the time, so she was able to chat with him too.
He says things are going well. He is sharing an apt. with 4 other elders. Currently he is in a trio, so the 3 of them go out and teach together. He had a nice birthday, the best it can be when you are in a new place and have only been there for 4 days. Some members of the congregation took them out to lunch on his birthday, without knowing it was his birthday. (A mother’s prayer answered!) Before we ended our video chat, Elder Juarez bore his testimony for us in ASL and he said a prayer in ASL. It was really special and neat to see.
With Carlos’ new work schedule, it has been hard for him to get in extra time with the kids. This weekend, he took the kids to Bounce About. Emily and David had a blast jumping on all the different bouncy houses. Carlos & I took a quick pic of us together while enjoying watching the kids play.
Hope everyone has a great week!
