Today I tackled Ian’s room. There are still some areas of our house that have not been completely unpacked yet. I was determined to get Ian’s room done today, as he was still at my mom’s house from our trip. It was the perfect time to do his room with out interrupting his daily routine.
I took everything out of the closets and went through boxes etc. Progress was made!! 😉 Later that evening, we drove out to my mom’s to pick up Ian and to have dinner. On our way there, Elder Juarez got us on video chat and soon after we added Jose to the chat. So fun!
Jose was able to stop by to say hi on his way to work. We really missed having him with us on our little vacay! Here Ashley is showing Jose some pictures she took on our trip, with the camera he bought her before our trip.
Ian was happy with his room. I think it is a lot easier for him to come home to things having been moved around, instead of having to watch things get moved around.

While in Brigham City, Uncle Chuck had made these cool water blaster toys for the kids, with each of their names on them. They love them. The kids watered the plants, made fun designs on the ground with them and of course got each other wet too. Even Ian enjoyed the playing with the water blasters!
Wednesday, July 1st
Carlos was working on a project and the kids must have decided to help.
Check out the little youtube video Emily took of David. Just click on the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W34GRj-2hM
Next up on Carlos’ to do list was buy fireworks. He loves the 4th of July!
David and Emily love these little backpacks filled with fireworks. Ashley looks so grown up in this picture. I straightened her hair and put part of it up in a bun. I don’t know if its her hair style… but she sure is growing up.
That evening Carlos and I made homemade sopes for dinner. He did the dough and I did they frying. They were amazing!
Thursday, July 2nd
I came up with a new summer recipe today and it was delicious!
The kids were playing with the doll house today. Looks like they missionaries were visiting. LOL
Which is very fitting because our missionary hit his 18 month mark today!!
I’m so proud of him and his decision to serve a mission. Everyday he is a good example to so many people, especially for me and his siblings.
The kids started a cute 4th of July project this evening. Check out their YouTube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9clz08oOxg
Ashley had YW/YM zoom meeting tonight. The missionaries joined the meeting. Elder Ditto is from Centerville, UT and Elder Pixton from San Antonio, TX. Both had been serving Spanish speaking countries prior to covid19.
Since they happen to already know Ashley, they “picked” on her a little. She was shy but did great. I was surprised at what a good account she gave of what we have been reading in the scriptures these last few weeks. Go Ashley!
Friday, July 3rd
Check out my little helper!
The kids finished up their summer planter box project today. I think they were pleased with the results.
Elder Juarez called this evening. He happened to call right in time for family scritpure study. The kids like it when he reads with us. I found 5 or so pics like the one below that david and Emily took while we were reading together. lol
Elder Juarez also sent us this picture of him and his district looking festive in red, white and blue.

Sunday, July 5th
We had our 4th of July BBQ today since we were gone yesterday. Jose, Jonny and my brother Alex joined us for the BBQ and stayed the night. These were the only pics I took of them though.
David loves when the big boys come to visit!
