This week was a super busy week, but also a really fun week. My dad came to visit from out-of-state for my birthday and spend the week with us.
Here we are having dinner for my birthday. Little David was there too, but he didn’t make it into any of these pictures. He was more interested in trying to get out of his high chair so he could go check out those flashy arcade games.
There were so many things that we did this week, it was hard to pick just a few to write about. This was at the league meet for cross-country. This is Carlitos’ 3rd league meet, seeing how he is a junior in high school. He was really hoping to get a medal this year. Only the top 10 runners received medals. He has worked so hard this season, and all his hard work paid off! Carlitos placed 10th out of 49 runners. This was my dad’s first time seeing Carlitos compete in a cross country meet too, which made it extra special! I was so proud of Carlitos for accomplishing his goal. After the race he came over and gave me a big (sweaty) hug….I almost cried!
We caught a Friday night football game, where Jose plays in the marching band. My dad really enjoyed the performance at halftime. Saturday Ashley had a soccer game in the morning and the boys had a soccer game in the afternoon. I really enjoyed my dad being able to be here with us during this time of year and seeing all the activities that the kids are doing during the fall. During this visit with my dad, I tried to take a lot of pictures of him with his grandchildren. My grandpa, (my dad’s dad) passed away in October, 2 years ago. While getting pictures together for a slide show that a family member was putting together about my grandpa’s life, I realized that I didn’t have very many pictures of my grandpa and I together. I want my kids to have lots of pictures with their grandpa for when they are older. ?
