It was another wonderful week of summer!
Monday, August 17th
I found these two engaged in a magic tree house book when I came to tell them lunch was ready.
We took a quick trip to check out another lake in our area that we have not been to yet. I think the kids like all the lakes we have been to so far! We let them swim for about 45 minutes or so and then we had to head home for Carlos to get ready for work.
When we came home, Emily and David were so happy to find that their birthday cards from Elder Juarez had arrived! He sent these cute book marks for each of the kids too. David loves his pokemon card so much, he carries it in his backpack when he plays pokemon.
We finished up our Monday by watching Split Infinity for FHE.
Tuesday, August 18th
My only picture for day – but a good one! Emily helping David when it was his turn to read during family scripture study. You can also see David’s bookmark from Elder Juarez in this picture too.
Wednesday, August 19th
Our family set out on a new adventure today. We went tubing! The kids were a little nervous at first (as was I!!), but the loved it! They each took a turn on the airhead (the name of our tube) with each other.
Carlos took a turn with David while I drove the boat, but I didn’t get any pictures of them together. I believe taking the boat out is Carlos’ new favorite thing to do on his day off…..and it was a great day!
Thursday, August 20th
Today was a super exciting day for Ashley. She was able to go over to a friend’s house! Crystal invited Ashley over so they could do their project for young women’s together. The theme of the project was: When life gives you lemons, what will you make? All the young women were given lemons to make something with.
Crystal and Ashley made lemon bars! I thought it was cute 2020 has given us few lemons lol. It was really nice for these two girls to be able to get together.
Friday, August 21st
Elder Juarez and his district at their last council meeting before transfers next week. It is hard to believe it has been 6 weeks already. We will find out who will be transferring in and out on Tuesday.
Saturday, August 22nd
Today, we went out of town to visit my Grandma Sandy! She only lives a few hours away, but because of covid19, we have not seen her since December. Oh, how we’ve missed her! Jose and Belle drove the truck out and we were able to load up this piano. Ashley was so excited, as soon as it was loaded up in the truck, she was up there playing it.
Then thought came to mind, wouldn’t it be cute for Jose to slowly drive her around the neighborhood, while she played, to put a smile on people’s faces? Of course I would be nervous to let that happen, but it would be kinda fun. Anyway, we are thankful for Grandma gifting us her piano for Christmas a few years back and we are thankful for Jose and Belle for driving the old truck all this way so we could pick up the piano….and for Jose’s help with moving the piano!
I don’t know why we didn’t think to take these while Jose was still here, but here are the kids with their great grandma and here are Ian and I with our grandma. We are so lucky to have her. She is so special!
Sunday, August 23rd
So far we had had a relaxing Sunday at Grandma’s house. The weather was perfect! After lunch, we headed out to the patio for some popsicles.
Next, Grandma’s sister Jean came over and we did a little our little church thing on the patio. It was simple and nice. Carlos blessed and passed the sacrament, we all shared testimony and the kids sang the song, baptism.
I hope the kids will remember this forever! Hanging out on the patio with their great grandmother and their great-great aunt on a Sunday afternoon. I feel blessed to be a part of this family and a descendant of the Cranston line.
You all are very special to me, I love you so much! I am grateful to be your grandma and greatgrandma Sandy
