Super easy-to-make cake with fruit on top!
Ingredients:
- Your favorite white cake mix
- Your favorite frosting
- Fresh Blackberries; washed
- Fresh Strawberries; washed and halved
- Canned Peaches; drained
Directions:
- Prepare your favorite white cake mix. My husband’s birthday was on a Sunday, so I was baking his cake (which was a surprise for him) after church. Therefore I used a Pillsbury white cake mix, instead of making a cake from scratch. Luckily, this recipe works with any cake mix.
- Instead of using two 8-inch round cake pans or two 9-inch round cake pans, I used one of each.
- Bake your cakes according to package or recipe directions.
- Once your cakes have cooled, place the larger of the two on a cake plate. Frost the entire cake. Next place the smaller cake on top of the frosted larger cake, and frost that as well. (I used store-bought buttercream frosting.)
- Once you are done frosting the cakes, you can starting designing with the fruit. I started with the strawberry in the middle, because that is his favorite of the 3 fruits. Start creating your design and go from there.
- You’ll want to slightly press down on the fruit, to make sure it sticks to the frosting.
- Next, you can design the side of the cake. I used the blackberries on the top layer, since blackberries are smaller and the top layer is the smaller layer.
There you have it!
